Unfortunately, violence in sports is not a new phenomenon. Although relatively rare in the United States, many European countries suffer from violent manifestations before, during and after sports events, especially soccer. The violent acts are not restricted to Europe only, as it may be even more common in many South American, Asian and African countries. Italy, as an example, has suffered during the last years from several acts of violence, including the recent death of a Lazio soccer club supporter, after being shot mistakenly by a cop. While the loss of lives is far more tragic than everything else, online casino sites and bookmakers are suffering from these acts as well.
The violence in sports not only hurts people, but it also takes away all the enthusiasm and interest. Many people, especially in Europe, have simply decided to stop going to soccer games, or even not watch them on TV, as they feel repulsed by all the violence. Obviously, online casino sites offering sports’ bet are damaged as well, as less interest means less bets
Even if looking at the problem from another angle, bookmakers suffer from this violence pretty often. Last week, three soccer games in Italy were cancelled because of violent acts, only hours before the kick off. Millions of dollars in bets were placed in these games and you can only imagine the damages for everyone involved. No matter how you try to look at it, sport’s violence must be eradicated completely, everywhere in the world and as soon as possible, to the benefit of everyone
