There has been a significant increase in online gambling among university students across the US. According to a recent study by PSU, in cooperation with the Oregon Health and Science University, students are calling it first and foremost a “fun activity”.

Most incredible, however, aside from the obvious new rising talents, is that university students are turning to online casino fun in order to find financial aid for their education. Alex O’Neil from Portland admitted that “I decided I was going to pay for school with it”, and succeeded at doing so for several years.

In addition to this new boom, the interest in online casino fun has also spread throughout the student mobile phone population. Today it is standard for every student to own at least one mobile phone, and with online casino fun only one button away, the hobby has become even more accessible. As O’Neil told PSU, “I think it's also just fun for people. You stick a few bucks of financial aid in it and have some fun. Not much different from going to your parties and buying beer.”

Until recently, no-one was quite aware of the interest younger people in the population had in online casino fun. Gwyn Ashcom from PSU explained that “It’s something new, even for me. I didn’t realize…how long people are spending online.”

The Oregon Health and Science University and PSU plan in investigating the new online casino fun trend. They will be aiming out exactly how much time students are spending gambling online, the average student age, and how long they have been using online casino fun to make real money. Very impressive!
