The US Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has certainly hurt millions of people in the United Sates, and it’s still continuing to do so. Luckily, there are some people who are doing their best in order to reverse this ridicule situation as quickly as possible. As of this week we can add to that list the London-based UC Group payment services provider and the British accounting group Baker Tilly, who have started together a Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative in the United States. The main idea behind the initiative is to obtain support for Congressman Barney Frank’s legislative attempts at regulating and licensing the American online casino industry.
“Millions of Americans are currently gambling online in an unregulated environment without any consumer protections. Online gambling should be a matter of personal choice, and no one should be able to interfere with the private life of those who want to do it” says spokesperson Jeffrey Sandman. Without a doubt, millions of online gamblers around the US agree with him in every single word.
According to a recent statement by the group, Frank’s new Bill will be introduced this week to the House of Representatives. Among other things, it will try to offer a much safer and secure environment for online gamblers, while also creating practical ways to enforce and regulate the whole US online casino industry – something that almost doesn’t exist right now. At this time not many are optimistic, but if Frank’s proposal does get through, it will certainly be a big day for every online gambler in the United States.
