The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the world's most anticipated international competitions, setting the stage for some of Europe's most promising undiscovered musical talents. Each year the comp is taken up a notch, and there are already some clear favorites for this year's title of winner.
With amazing odds of 5/2, the leader of the pack is Azerbaijan. This is most probably because Azerbaijan only made its Eurovision debut two years ago, and yet still managed to place 8th in 2008 and then 3rd in 2009. With a track record like that, it's not surprising that so much is expected of this small Eurasian country.
In second place is Israel, the tiny yet culturally flourishing middle-Eastern country, whose last win was back in 1998. with many new breakthrough artists on the rise, Israel has a lot to bring to the table, and William Hill's odds currently stand at 5/1.
Denmark is the third favorite for winner, with stable odds of 8/1, and is expected to at least place in the top three this year. Its last win dates back no less than ten years ago. Coming up closely behind Denmark include Germany and Armenia, which share odds of 14/1, and Croatia and Norway, which also share odds of 10/1.
Other countries possibly in it to win it are Sweden and Greece with odds of 20/1, Spain, Ireland and Belarus with odds of 33/1, Iceland and Albania with odds of 40/1, and Sweden and Greece with odds of 20/1. Countries with some not so flashy odds include England, Slovakia and France, who each are listed at 50/1. The countries with the least expectations regarding a win are Poland, Slovenia and Macedonia, which have odds of 200/1.
