MGM Mirage, which is in the process of bidding to build a casino on downtown Marina Bay, Singapore, also plans to offer a wide range of dining facilities and use its experience to provide more "sizzle" to meetings and conventions, vice president for public affairs Gordon Absher said.
The entertainment behemoth has recently started releasing snippets of its plans for the Singapore casino, and took a group of Singapore journalists to Las Vegas where it operates some of the gaming industry's most well-known facilities. "We are in discussions with chefs from all parts of the globe, including a number who have made their home in Singapore," says Absher.
"While we've approached some chefs on our own, we've also been approached by a surprising number of top chefs expressing interest in working with us at an MGM Mirage resort in Singapore. The "integrated resort" concept refers to convention facilities, hotels, theaters, museums and theme parks in addition to casino gambling.
