The competition all over the online casino industry is just getting tougher and tougher lately. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act may be one of the reasons, as the US market constituted a big part of the companies’ revenues, but it also might be the desire of those exact companies to “conquer” new potential markets and regions. Playtech, one of the leading software providers of the industry, has certainly assimilated this fact, as they’ve recently reported the addition of bet365, one of the biggest online casinos worldwide, to it I-Poker network. Although the online casino has been using Playtech’s games since 2005, it will be joining now the poker network and try to use in order to attract new gamblers from the European and Asian markets
The contract, which was signed for an initial term of 3 years, will also be covering the integration of all of the site's poker, mobile and Asian P2P games. “We are delighted that bet365 has extended its relationship with Playtech to include its Poker operations. It certainly is a testament to the strength and success of our relationship” said Mor Weizer, Chief Executive of Playtech
At the other side of the agreement, bet365, which is owned by Hillside (Gibraltar) Ltd, certainly sounds happy too: “We are very pleased with the smooth and successful migration of our poker product to the iPoker network. After considering our options, we decided to stick with Playtech as our provider for online casino games, poker and mobile games” said Steve Ibberson, Managing Director of Hillside (Gibraltar) Ltd.
