A New sponsorship deal has been signed between Littlewoods Poker and the former British actor-turned casino poker player, Michael Greco. Greco will be one of the few high profile celebrities to play as one of Littlewoods’ professionals, and has recently earned the undisputed respect of his fellow players at the casino of the WSOP’s final tables.

The former Eastenders star has had a great run so far in the casino poker industry. In 2007 he became the second ranked player in Europe for Pot Limit Omaha, and also managed to take home the Cardiff Leg worth £100,000 of the GUKPT. Greco claimed that these wins would prove to other casino poker players and enthusiasts that he “wasn’t just another ‘celeb’ catching the poker wave”, but could actually play, and play well at that. As such, Greco was more than pleased with his performance (as well as the hundred grand he took home, of course!).

Yet Greco is not ready to leave his acting career for the casino poker tables. He is continuing has acting career in the hope of one day receiving an Oscar Award, and hopes to combine this dream with his ambitions of winning a WSOP bracelet (which he came so close to doing yesterday).

Greco’s performance at the casino poker tables hosting the $2000 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em tournament saw him take home $22,000 after drawing a cold deck.Yet with a full-blown casino poker career up his sleeve, we can expect much more from Greco in the tournaments to come.
