In order to stand out from the rest, those sites have to offer something that their competitor might not have. eCOGRA’s “Safe and Fair” seal, for example, may well be one of those things, as it promises that the site meets certain standards. For those who have never heard anything about them, the eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) is a non-profit organization who is considered one of the industry’s standards authority. Among other things, eCOGRA looks for Prompt payments, safe storage of information, random games, honest advertising, and responsible behavior by the online casino and poker room operator.

As the online casino industry just keeps growing all around Europe, it seems only natural, then, that the organization is starting to get more attention in that region. “The need for acceptable standards and licensing has never been stronger” said recently Andrew Beveridge, the CEO of eCOGRA, during the last European iGaming Congress and Expo in Barcelona. “Our goal is to give the players, and operators, exactly that” added Beveridge.

Right now, there are more than 120 online casino sites and poker rooms carrying the organization’s “Safe and Fair” seal, but it seems as it’s only a matter a time until that number will grow substantially, mainly due to the European interest. eCOGRA has invested during the last years more than $3 million in order to build a respectable organization – now it’s starting to bear fruits.
