Calgarians prefer penny and nickel slots and the casino has plenty of those. A great night out for everyone as they line up to play at the slots and the ever popular poker tables.
Owned by Calgary West Hospitality, the new casino encompasses 96,000 square feet with 620 slots, 40 table games and 24-hour poker. There is a place for high rollers to where they can play blackjack, baccarat and tile pai gow. As if that is not enough, there is also the Big Sky Showroom where acts of world format perform.
There are still 400 slot machines ready for action at the original site. Tito machines (ticket-in-ticket-out) have been put there at the request of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. Gamblers who want to play on these machines will have a chance to do so during the 10-day event after which the site will be cleared for exhibition purposes.
The 400 slots will then tour the summer fair circuit, the summer fair casino program has become a tradition and was started in the early 1990s. The money raised by the summer fair casino will go to the Alberta Lottery Fund and the Stampede Casino Exhibition Association.
