September 30, 2004 -- Amanda is thrilled to announce she will be the brand new host of G4 Tech TV's weekly news show Pulse. At G4 Tech TV she'll showcase her unique skill of working both sides of the camera as a segment producer in addition to her hosting duties on the show. G4 Tech TV is in 55 million plus homes and is the network to watch for everything to do with cutting edge technology and video gaming culture. New episodes can be seen every Friday at 7:00pm PST.
Prior to landing the gig at G4 Tech TV, Amanda was well known for her job as MTV Canada"s female VJ, hosting shows like Select, World Chart Express and WCEX International. Her position as a host and associate producer at MTV again provided Amanda with an outlet to produce her own segments as well as to interview some of the biggest names in the industry. She is able to come up with a segment, book the guest, do the interview, shot-list the piece and present it in it"s entirety. She is truly the complete package and has interviewed Russell Simmons, Tyra Banks Will Ferrell, Michelle Branch, Zach Galifianakis, Def Leppard, the cast of Young and the Restless, Jann Arden, Gabrielle Union, Brendan Fehr and Shawn Ashmore, to name only a few.
Amanda has a degree in Broadcast Journalism and has professionally trained as an actor in addition to her broadcasting career. As an actor she has worked side by side with big names like Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox-Arquette. She most recently booked a role on the Francis Ford Coppola produced brand new series The 4400 in which she had a chance to put her "stunt" actor abilities to the test.
Another very special accomplishment and experience was when Amanda was flown to New York as a finalist for YM Magazine"s and Cover Girl Cosmetic"s model search. She completed a ten page spread for the magazine with the other finalists. Amanda was featured in the magazine for a second time for their MTV issue in May 2004.
Amanda enjoys volunteering her time with groups and projects supporting animal rights, women"s issues, and local food charities. She is a huge animal lover and has hosted a feature at the SPCA about the documentary "Forgotten Felines". She also emceed a mother/ daughter charity event to raise funds for the Marguerite Dixon Transition Society in early May.
She loves videogames and outdoor sports, especially snowboarding, skateboarding, dirt biking and surfing. Her favorite indoor sport is "shopping".
Amanda is honest, passionate, focused and dedicated to her work and career. She enjoys working with teenagers and any others who may benefit from her experiences and zest for life.
